What Macomb Township is known for

Three things, mostly.

First, growth. The township roughly doubled in population between 2000 and 2020, and the housing stock reflects that. You're looking at one of the newest large communities in the metro area.

Second, schools. Macomb Township is split across four public districts, and one of them, Chippewa Valley Schools, ranks at the top of the county. More on that below.

Third, the Hall Road retail corridor. M-59, also called Hall Road, runs along the township's south edge and into neighboring Clinton Township, where The Mall at Partridge Creek (an outdoor lifestyle center on Hall Road) sits just over the line. Most of the area's big-box shopping, dining, and services cluster along this stretch.

Suburban and family-driven. Households here skew toward couples with kids, and the rhythm of the place follows youth sports schedules, school calendars, and weekend trips to the rec center or the stores on Hall Road. Many neighborhoods are HOA subdivisions with sidewalks, retention ponds, and homes built to similar eras and floor plans.

You drive everywhere. Errands mean a car trip to a mile road or to the M-59 corridor, not a walk to a shop. The tradeoff is space: bigger lots, newer construction, and quieter streets than you'd find closer to the city.

Romeo Plank Road is the main historic north-south route on the township's west side, and the numbered mile roads (22 Mile through 26 Mile) form the local grid.
